Charging port repair Amsterdam
The charging port is the busiest mechanical connection in your device: thousands of insertions, usually alongside a pocket full of lint. A large share of the phones that arrive with "it stopped charging" do not have a broken port at all, but one packed solid with compressed fabric fibre. The cable simply never reaches the contacts.
So we always start with a microscope inspection and a dry clean using anti-static tools. If that does not solve it, we measure whether the port itself, the flex cable or the charging circuit on the mainboard is at fault.

Why picking at it yourself is a bad idea
A paperclip or needle usually compacts the debris further and bends the contacts or the centre tongue of a USB-C port. A bent tongue almost always means the entire port has to be replaced, where a clean would have fixed it. Compressed air or a drop of alcohol is no better: it pushes moisture toward the flex cable.
Modular port or soldered
On most Android devices the charging port sits on a separate small board that we replace as a whole. On iPhones the port is part of a longer flex cable running through the device and attached to the speaker and microphone, so that repair needs more disassembly and a little more time. On a few devices the connector is soldered directly to the mainboard. That is microsoldering work, and we always discuss it with you first, risks included.
Wireless charging as a stopgap
If your device supports wireless charging and it still works, you can use it until the repair is done. Keep in mind that without a working port you cannot transfer data over cable, and a computer-based restore is off the table. That is a good reason not to let it drag on for months.
Frequently asked questions
Does a clean cost the same as a replacement?
No. If it turns out to be only debris, the job is far lighter than a full port replacement. After the inspection we tell you what is needed before we do anything.
Could it be my cable or adapter?
Absolutely, and more often than people expect. We test your device with a known good cable and a calibrated supply so we do not replace something that is not broken. Bring your own cable along.
