A modern phone typically has three or more microphones: one at the bottom near the charging port for your voice, one at the top for noise cancellation, and one by the camera for video. Which one has failed explains exactly which symptom you get. If callers cannot hear you normally but can on speaker, that points to the bottom microphone. If video recordings sound tinny, the camera microphone is the culprit.

Often it is dirt, not a defect

We clean grilles with ultrasonic tools and soft brushes under magnification, without pushing the mesh in. In a good share of cases that is the entire repair.
When the phone insists headphones are plugged in
If your device stays stuck in headphone mode, there is almost always moisture or corrosion in the connector or on the audio codec. The phone routes sound to an output that is not there. Cleaning often resolves it; if the codec itself is affected it becomes board-level work, which we discuss with you separately.
